Known as a prominent German and American historian and philosopher, Hannah Arendt was one of the most original political thinkers in the 20th century.

Born into a Jewish family in Hanover, Germany on October 14, , she grew up in Königsberg. Arendt received her education at the Universities of Marburg, Freiburg, and Heidelberg, studying under M. Heidegger and K. Jaspers.
