Co-founders of The Oriental Missionary Society (later known as OMS International, and eventually One Mission Society).
Worked along side her husband to complete The Great Village Campaign in The goal was for every person in Japan to hear the Gospel within the next five years.
Lettie began writing in November when OMS cofounder Ernest Kilbourne initiated a monthly publication called Electric Messages.'. She wrote monthly reports of the work being accomplished.
When the Cowmans returned to the US in January of , Charles Cowman became gravely ill.
