    Camille Claudel (1864-1943)

    Camille Claudel (December 8, 1864 – October 19, 1943) was a Frenchsculptor and graphic artist who produced a number of noteworthy works until mental illness resulted in her being institutionalized, against her will, in an asylum in 1913.

    The older sister of the French poet and diplomat Paul Claudel, she was the student of Alfred Boucher and then Auguste Rodin.
